Virus news:
Bugbear is a particularly nasty virus that came out near the end of September. It will spread both by email and over a network. In this area, bugbear became widespread before most people had an upgraded version of their virus checker, and we’ve seen many cases of it.
If you have a virus checker, be sure to upgrade it, then do a complete scan. See that it actually finishes. If you don’t have a virus checker, consider getting AVG from www.GRIsoft.com. If you suspect you have bugbear, there’s a removal utility at www.Symantec.com.
Tips and Tricks
If you maintain a web site (personal web sites are free at TurboNet, and we host lots of commercial web sites as well) be sure neither your filenames nor your directory names contain spaces. Internet Explorer can handle URL’s with spaces, but Netscape cannot.
