Are you getting the most from your email?
For most people, the primary reason for Internet is email. Here are some things we can do to make your email more useful.
1. If you are receiving lots of messages whose subject line starts with [Spam], we can have our mail server automatically move those messages to a spam folder which doesn’t go into your email program’s inbox, so you never see them. The anti-spam engine in our mail server does a very good job at tagging commercial email as [Spam], but it can’t tell if this particular piece of commercial-sounding email is one you really want, such as airline tickets. So you’ll also have a White List, where you can easily put email addresses for your mailing lists, friends and family, so their messages won’t ever be tagged as spam. The tagged messages are kept for three days, in case you really do need them, then they’re deleted.
2. If you check your email infrequently, or use it seasonally, we can set it up to automatically delete any emails older than, say, 30 days. Or five days, or whatever you choose. Just let us know.
3. For most purposes, you’ll want to use a regular email program like Outlook Express or Eudora to manage your email. But when you’re away from your computer, you can also check for new messages using Web Email (http://mail.turbonet.com). This web site also lets you look at your spam folder, set up autoresponder messages (I’m on vacation so I won’t be answering your letters) and send messages.
National Dial-up
If you’re leaving for the summer (or forever) remember that we can provide a local dial-up number almost anywhere in the United States. You can keep your email address, of course, with or without a dial-up. Ask us for details (883-5500).
Share your Opinion
If you like the service we provide, please recommend us to your friends and neighbors. We will show our appreciation in a very concrete fashion. If a new customer signs up and mentions your recommendation, we will give each of you a free month of service. This applies to dial-up, ADSL, wireless and commercial webspace accounts.
