  25th Anniversary

Happy New Year!  In 1982, Tony and Monica started Cactus Computer as a

mail-order business selling only 3M floppy diskettes.  Cactus’ storeroom was a single shelving unit and its shipping/receiving department was our living room.

We grew, moving into a small store downtown, then a larger one, then still larger.  We branched out into Internet service, then high-speed Internet, and now even fiber-optic gigabit Internet.  After twenty-five years, we are still a family business, but instead of kids in the living room, it’s now grandkids in the showroom.  Thank you all, so very much, for making it possible.

  Consignments Accepted

Cleaning out your book cases?  Bring us your movies (dvd or vhs) or game console games – the ones you don’t want any more.  We’ve recently begun a consignment section to help people sell them.  On the Internet, there’s a list of the items already consigned at http://www.turbonet.com/scripts/
Consignment.asp
It’s easy, and you won’t have to be bothered with selling them individually yourself.

  PalouseAds.com

For larger items, try our free classified ad web site at www.PalouseAds.com.  It’s very active, receiving over 25,000 visits per month, so it’s a good place to list items that need a wide audience.  For instance, not everyone needs a hand-made skateboarding half-pipe or professional acrylic paints or a lighted magnifier on an arm, but if you have one to sell, there’s a good chance one of our readers is looking for it.  Or if you want to buy anything from a kitten to a house, it’s listed.

  Was your Holiday too Fulfilling?

People occasionally ask me, a grandmother, how I stay slim.  The horrible truth is that 16 years ago I was 40 lb heavier.  I use a computer-aided calorie counter, which also keeps track of exercise and vitamins and protein, and calculates my real metabolic rate automatically – marvelous program!

I personally recommend DietPower software for making weight control possible.  I don’t say it will be easy, but before I started using a computer program to count calories, I couldn’t do it at all.

DietPower takes me about ten minutes a day, and it basically keeps me honest.  I log my exercise and my food, and when I’m using it (which is most of the time), I get more exercise and east less food.  ‘Cause I’m not fooling myself – I’m in control.  Save $5.00 when you mention my name.  We have free trial CD's on the shelf, or you can download from www.DietPower.com.
