Setting up the Ruckus MF2501US
- Configure your computer's Local Area Connection to 192.168.0.10 so the
Ruckus will talk to your computer.
- In Windows XP, Start, Control Panel (or maybe Start, Settings,
Control Panel)
- If there are fewer than about 12 icons, click on "Switch to Classic
View" in the upper left.
- Double-click the Network Connections icon.
- Click Properties.
- Double-click on Internet Protocol/TCP/IP in the middle box.
You may have to scroll down.
- Enter 192.168.0.10 for the IP address, 255.255.252.0 for the subnet
mask. The other numbers are not necessary to configure the Ruckus.
- OK, OK.
- Plug the Ruckus radio into your ethernet port.
- Open a browser window, and enter 192.168.0.254 in the address or
location line.
- Username: admin. Leave the password blank.
- Configure the Ruckus
- Click Configuration on the left panel, then Wireless.
- Click the Survey button to find available wireless networks.
Choose the one you want.
- at Security, click on WEP and click Enter Security Settings.
Note: it's not a Pass Phrase, but a Key.
- The entry key method is ASCII text, the key length is 128-bit.
Click the Update button.
- Click Next, Next, then the reboot button (not reboot to factory
settings).
- Your Ruckus will reboot. Be patient.
- Re-configure your computer's Local Area Connection to obtain an IP
address automatically (see step 1 for procedure).
- Check to make sure you're on the Internet. It can take about 60
seconds for your computer to obtain an IP address.
