Setting up the Speedstream 6520

1. In a Web browser, enter 192.168.254.254 in the address line.
2. Next
3. Enter the existing password twice
4. Next
5. Enter a new (or the same) username and password.
6. Next
7. Pacific Time is Greenwich -0800
8. Next
9. Set up a wireless SSID
10. Pick a channel - randomly 1, 6 or 11
11. Next
12. Choose a security mode (normally WPA) and enter the security key, at least 8 characters
13. Next
14. Finish
15. Continue
16. Turn off Universal Plug n Play: 
    1. Go to Home Network
    2. click Advanced Settings
    3. Scroll to the bottom and click on configure the Universal Plug n Play Settings.
    4. Select "Disable UPnP"
    5. apply
17. Click on ISP Connection on the left, then Advanced Settings
18. Configure the ATM virtual circuit
19. Click the virtual circuit and change the VPI to zero for either Verizon or Cactus
20. Finish
21. Click on the name, and change 8/35 to 0/35
22. Reboot
23. Reboot

To change an existing PPPoE setup:

    After login, click on ISP Connection, then PPPoE 0/35.

To change wireless info:

    After login, click on Home Network, Advanced Settings, Configure the local Speedstream Gateway Wireless Network then begin wireless wizard.

Note that if you need to reset the router to factory default, hold in the reset button (on the bottom) only until the power light starts flashing.

To turn off Universal Plug n Play

1. Log in
2. Go to Home Network
3. click Advanced Settings
4. Scroll to the bottom and click on configure the Universal Plug n Play Settings.
5. Select "Disable UPnP"
6. apply
