Equipment Setup - Westell 2200 Static IP Address Input

Static IP Address Input |
To configure the modem for static IPs, have the
customer perform the following. |

Browser |
Have the customer open a Web browser and type
the following IP address in the browser’s address window:
http://192.168.1.1
If they cannot connect, try removing any IP
information in their network connection. They should connect
directly to the Westell 2200 without going through a router.
Enter the default User name admin
and password password. Then click OK. |

Required Password Change |
When the screen below appears, the customer must
enter a user name and new password. The password change is required to
continue accessing the modem/router.
The customer must enter their Administration
name and Password in the fields provided. Click on change and
then OK the question box.
Note: The Change Password screen allows
them to use admin as their Administration Name
but it will not allow them to use password as the
Administration Password. They must enter a different password in
order for the change to take effect. Click change and OK
the change. NOTE : IF THE CUSTOMER HAS A
POPUP BLOCKER ACTIVE, HAVE THEM DISABLE IT. IT WILL BLOCK THE NEXT
FEW SCREENS. |

Setup Wizard |
After changing the password and logging into the
modem/router, the customer will see the Setup Wizard screens. The
default values are highlighted in green.
Click next. |

Re-logging |
The customer must re-login to the modem/router
with their new login and password. Click OK. |

|
Account ID |
If the service is PPPoE (Cactus Computer is
not), the customer must input their account ID and password. If the DSL
line isn’t PPPoE, leave them blank. Click next. If the
customer/ISP changes the network login and password, it will have to be
changed here also. |

VPI/VCI |
The VPI/VCI are set at the default 0/35. If the
customer has something other than 0/35 they will need to change it.
Click next. |

Protocol |
The modem/router will automatically detect if
the line is PPPoE or DHCP (Bridge). If the service has static IPs
(Cactus does) Do Not change this screen. Click next. We
will input put them in a minute. |

Set-up Complete |
Click done to complete the set up. If
any items were changed the modem/router will reboot. |

Connection Overview |
After the Set-Up is complete, the
customer will be presented with the Home screen below. Select
Configuration and then VC Configuration. |

VC Configuration |
To view the VC Configuration of VPI/VCI
0/35 click on it’s edit button. 0/35 is the only usable VPI/VCI.
It should be the only enabled VPI/VCI. |

VC 1 Configuration – Static IPs |
After clicking on edit in the step above,
the customer will see the following information. This example is for a
DHCP line.
To have the modem house the static IPs, the
following need to be set:
Protocol = Bridge
Mode = Routed Bridge (Bridge if the PC houses
the IPs)
DHCP Client = Disabled
IP, Subnet, Gateway, DNS Primary, DNS Secondary
= complete these fields with information provided by the ISP
After making the changes click on set VC.
The modem will reboot. The customer should have service when
restored. |
