Instructions for installing TurboNet on an iMac running OS 8.5.1

Other OS's may be slightly different.  Please follow the instructions carefully!

1. Click and hold on the Apple menu. 
   Go down to "Internet access" and follow the arrow to the right. 
   Highlight "Internet setup assistant" and release.
2. The Welcome screen comes up with a picture of an Imac. 
   "Would you like to set up your iMac to use the Internet?"  Click on yes.
3. "Do you already have an Internet account?"  Click on yes.
4. An introduction screen comes up.  Read it completely and follow the instructions.
5. Have the following information handy, then click the right arrow.

   Domain name:	turbonet.com
   Domain name server (DNS) addresses: (you'll need to enter both)	216.98.224.1 216.98.224.3
   ISP's phone number:	Albion - 592-4020 Bovill - 826-4138 Cora - 668-0138 Deary - 877-2167 Elk River - 826-4138 Garrison - 872-5116 Genesee - 285-2116 Moscow - 874-4042 Potlatch - 875-2139 Pullman – 592-4020 Wellesley - 858-1138
   Logon name (user name):	The username from your signup sheet. example:  myname@turbonet.com. It IS case sensitive (Bill is different from bill).
   Password:	The password from your signup sheet.

6. Configuration name and connection type screen. 
   Please name this connection.  You can call it whatever you want (we usually use "turbonet").  Click on the modem so that the black dot is in the circle.   Click on the right arrow.
7. Modem settings screen. 
   The settings should already be there.

   Modem:	iMac Internal 56K
   Port:	internal modem

   
   Click on tone if your phone line is tone, or pulse if it is not.  Most lines in this area are tone.  Do not check "ignore dial tone".   Click on the right arrow.

8. Configuration information screen.

   Phone number:	Albion - 592-4020 Bovill - 826-4138 Cora - 668-0138 Deary - 877-2167 Elk River - 826-4138 Garrison - 872-5116 Genesee - 285-2116 Moscow - 874-4042 Potlatch - 875-2139 Pullman – 592-4020 Wellesley - 858-1138
   Name:	myname@turbonet.com
   Password:	(your password from the signup sheet)

   
   Click on the right arrow.

9. PPP Connect Scripts screen. 
   "Does your ISP require that you use a PPP connect script when you log in?"   Click on no. 
   Click the right arrow.
10. IP address screen. 
    "Is there an IP address for this configuration?"  Click on  no.  
    Click the right arrow.
11. Domain name server screen. 
    "What is the DNS address (or addresses) for this configuration?  Enter the following numbers:  216.98.224.1 and 216.98.224.3
    "What is the domain name for this configuration?"  Enter "turbonet.com".
    Click the right arrow.
12. E-mail address and password screen. 
    "What is the e-mail address for this configuration?"  (your login)@turbonet.com
    "What is the password for this configuration?"  (your password from the signup sheet)
    "What is the quoting character you would like to use?" (it should have a "<" in the box.  Just leave it there.)
    Click the right arrow.
13. E-mail Account and Host Computer screen.
    "What is your e-mail account for this configuration?"  (your login)@turbonet.com
    "What is the e-mail host for this configuration?" mail.turbonet.com
    Click the right arrow.
14. Newsgroup host computer screen.
    "What is the news group host for this configuration?" news.turbonet.com
    Click the right arrow.
15. "Do you use proxy servers for Internet connections?"  click no.
    Click the right arrow.
16. Conclusion screen
    Uncheck the "connect when finished" box.  Click on "go ahead".
