Instructions for installing TurboNet on an iMac
running OS X (OS-ten)
Turbonet setup for OS X
- Click on Apple in upper left corner.
- Click on “System Preferences”.
- Click on “Network” icon.
NOTE: Make sure the lock in
the bottom left corner of “Network” window is unlocked. Otherwise you will
not be able to make changes.
- At top of screen, make sure location is set to
“Automatic”
- Next pull down menu reads “Show”; make sure
“Internal Modem” is set.
- Next select the TCP/IP tab below “Show” and
“Internal Modem”
- In TCP/IP, make sure “Configure” pull down menu is
set to “Using PPP”
- In TCP/IP, “Domain Name Servers” white box should
have the following numbers entered: 216.98.224.1 and 216.98.224.3
(NOTE: DO NOT ENTER IN ANY
PREFIX ZEROS. wrong ->. 216.098.224.003)
- In TCP/IP, “Search Domains” white box should have
entered in: turbonet.com
- Click on “PPP” tab.
- Under “Telephone Number” enter:

- Under “Account Name”, enter your login in name
(which is usually the same as your email address). The last part
of your login name must be "@turbonet.com".
- Under “Password”, enter in your login password. You
can check “Save Password” box if desired.
- Under “PPP Options” button, uncheck “Disconnect if
Idle” and check “Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
- Click on “Proxies” tab, make sure all the fields are
empty and all check boxes are unchecked.
- Click on “Modem” tab. Make sure “Dialing” is set to
“Tone”. Also, check box to show modem status in menu bar.
- Click “Apply Now”. Click on “System Preferences” in
Menu bar and click “Quit System Prefs”.
- To connect, either click on the phone icon in the
upper right corner and click “Connect”. Or click on the blue “e” in the
dock (located at bottom center of screen).
